If one believes in Jesus and that he walked this earth 2,000 years ago, you must believe that he is returning. For every one prophesy concerning his first coming, there are eight times as many concerning his second coming. Unfortunately, we are experiencing the same problem as the first time Jesus was here. Very few people know that he is going to return, and even fewer understand the signs of his return.
Jesus stated many times himself that his return was going to happen. There is one chapter in each of the three synoptic gospels thatís dedicated to the signs of his return. Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 each deal in great detail the warning signs that we must be aware of. The whole book of Revelation is about is second coming to earth. In chapter 19, he is shown coming to earth with all of his saints to set up the kingdom of Heaven on earth.
There was even confusion as soon as Jesus was raised from the dead and sat at the right hand of God. Many followers of the early church believed that Jesus would return any day to set up his kingdom. So Paul had to write to them to straighten things out. He had to explain that we are in the age of grace and that Jesus gave us specific signs to look for regarding his return.
These are just a few examples of scripture that refer to Jesusí second coming.
Matthew 16:28. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Luke 19:23. Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
Acts 1:10. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
II Peter 1:16. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

I John 2:28. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Through all of the signs that are given to us, we still donít know the exact day and time. That is why we must continue in faith until his arrival because not even Jesus himself knows the day of his return -
Matthew 24:36. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
